Preparatory Work
Between February 1983 and November 1985 extensive planning was carried out before launching the Saraswati expedition.
A seminar on Vedic River Saraswati was organised on 10 February 1983 at Kurukshetra.
The seminar defined the research scope, expert team, and methodology for studying the Saraswati river.
Scholars from archaeology, geography and history participated to plan the expedition.
Landsat Satellite Evidence
Satellite images revealed ancient palaeochannels of the Saraswati river.
Compilation of these images was carried out at the Physical Research Laboratory.
