Wakankar Bharati Sanskruti Anveshan Nyas – Ujjain is a private trust established by eminent archaeologist and rock art expert Padma Shri Dr. Vishnu Shridhar (Haribhau) Wakankar on 5 July 1986.
The registered office of the trust is located at Wakankar Shodh Sansthan, 21 Varah Mihir Marg, Madhav Nagar, Ujjain – 456010, Madhya Pradesh, India.
The trust was established with the aim of promoting research, preservation and dissemination of knowledge related to Indian history, archaeology, culture, art and heritage.
Objectives of the Trust
- Establishment of Cultural Art Centres and Research Centres.
- Establishment of Museums, Libraries and Rock Art Exhibition Centres.
- Establishment of research laboratories and historical research centres.
- Organization of conferences, seminars, lectures and workshops.
- Publication of research papers, theses and academic periodicals.
- Promotion of fine arts such as drawing, painting, sculpture, music and dance.
- Undertaking cultural and research activities as recommended by experts and scholars.
Units of the Trust
Wakankar Bharati Sanskruti Anveshan Nyas operates through two major units:
Wakankar Shodh Sansthan
This unit focuses on research and educational activities related to Ancient Indian History, Archaeology, Numismatics, Epigraphy, Culture and Rock Art studies.
Bharati Kala Bhavan
This unit promotes activities related to fine arts and cultural traditions such as drawing, painting, sculpture, music and dance.
Financial activities of the trust are audited on a regular basis.
