Story about Bapu Wakankar

On Gandhi Jayanti, Ashish A. Wakankar pays tribute to another influential "Bapu" in his life—Laxman Shridhar Wakankar (Lipikar Bapu). A pioneering entrepreneur, engineer, and scholar, he founded Asha Cosmetics in the 1940s, exporting Indian cosmetics globally and manufacturing Nivea under license in India. Beyond business, his enduring contributions include the discovery of the Maheshwari script and pioneering the adaptation of the Devanagari script for computer keyboards. Along with his younger brother, Padma Shri Dr. Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar, he left a remarkable legacy in India's cultural, scientific, and national heritage.
